The Monge family has been growing coffee for generations, however, the Quebradillas farm in particular was started by father Johel 20 years ago with his son Mathias joining after finishing university. This farm grows numerous varieties but they're most known for Geisha, which has won the Cup of Excellence competition twice.
After picking and selecting only the ripest cherries for processing, they are carefully dried in covered raised beds to protect from excess sunlight, thus slowing down drying and increasing shelf life.
Johel and Mathias are both outgoing, fun-loving, and cordial people but beneath this fun exterior, they strive to produce some of the world's best coffees.
We are very proud to feature, in collaboration with Apex Coffee Imports, their 2020 harvest.
